Taraneh Javanbakht won the Editor's Choice Award for her achievement in Poetry in New York in 2003.

She was acknowledged by Reza Amrollahi, the president of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran and the second in the administration of President of Iran, in the Second International Conference of Laser and Its Applications in 1993. 

 She was also awarded the Association Française des Femmes Diplômées des Universités (AFFDU) award in 1999.
